Canadian Environment Week is a time of year that was established in 1971 to raise awareness about environmental issues and to celebrate Canada’s accomplishments and encourage Canadians to protect our environment.
This year’s Environment Week starts May 31 and includes Canada Clean Air Day (June 2) and UN World Environment Day (June 5). The Union of Health and Environment Workers would like to thank all our members who work everyday keeping our air and land and water safe. That includes employees at Environment and Climate Change Canada but also members who work in other departments and agencies that protect our natural resources, our health and our environment.
We encourage all UHEW members to work with other Canadians to conserve and celebrate our environment and recommit to keeping it safe, clean and healthy for future generations to come.
