Treasury Board bargaining: Wear black on April 29

This week, PSAC bargaining teams will be meeting with Treasury Board in mediation and negotiations, and they need to feel the strength of 120,000 PSAC members behind them.

On Wednesday, while our bargaining teams are at the table, let’s show them they have the full support of PSAC members behind them — and show the employer we’re paying attention.

  • Wear black: Make your presence felt in the workplace and on every video call.
  • Show your support: Download the “I Support My Bargaining Team” background and poster or wear a PSAC sticker. Use them in every meeting and share a photo on social media using #PSACTogether.
  • Talk to your coworkers: Ensure they know that job security and fair pay are on the line.

This is a simple, visible way to show that the teams have the full support of PSAC members across the country.

Send a clear message to the employer

So far, the employer hasn’t been taking this process seriously. They’ve outright refused to meaningfully discuss our key priorities because they’re more concerned with control than addressing the real issues in the workplace.

Treasury Board thinks they’re going to wear us down, and they’re counting on you not to pay attention or care. This is how we prove them wrong.

Because what we’re fighting for in this round of bargaining is too important to ignore:

  • Job security: We’re calling for improvements to workforce adjustment as over 14,000 PSAC members have been notified they could lose their jobs, and thousands of term workers have already been cut.
  • Remote work: The employer continues to impose arbitrary decisions and a four-day in-office mandate instead of negotiating a fair and transparent process.
  • Fair pay: We are demanding compensation that reflects the critical work you do as the cost of living continues to rise.

Remember, a fair contract isn’t given. It’s won through collective action. On April 29, wearing black is how we show up for the bargaining teams at the table, and how we remind the employer what we’re capable of when we act together.
